Simon was raised in the Central Valley of California. After graduating from high school, Simon spent 2 years in the Dominican Republic as a missionary, where he became fluent in Spanish and gained a love for helping underserved individuals. He then attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he majored in political science with an emphasis in foreign affairs.
During his time at Brigham Young University-Idaho, Simon interned with the United States Embassy to the European Union, advocating for national interests as a diplomatic intern. After completing his internship, Simon attended Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark School of Law. While there, Simon worked at the Utah County District Attorney’s office and interned at the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, conducting evidentiary hearings and court trials. He also was a member of the trial advocacy team and committee, where he was the pro bono chair.
Upon graduation from law school, Simon accepted a position as a Deputy District Attorney at the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. As a Deputy District Attorney, Simon dealt with a variety of cases including DUIs, gross vehicular manslaughter, domestic violence, attempted murder, and complex robberies.
Simon has tried 11 criminal jury trials. In his trials, he worked closely with victims of violent crimes to ensure justice in the most trying times of their lives. Simon hopes to take his passion for helping those who have fallen victim and vigorously fight for the rights of those who are injured in traumatic accidents.
In his spare time, Simon enjoys spending time with his wife of 8 years and hiking with their children.
